A bowl of Warm Soup.

I have been so busy this month entertaining house guest, taking a trip to Chicago...busy busy busy...and October is always busy for me. So, i decided to take time off from cooking classes but I like to get back to it...since so many of you have been asking me about what's next.

And speaking of a trip to Chicago...last week I went to Chicago with my 2 best friends. We ate in some really amazing places and I think I found my new favorite restaurant, Sepia in Chicago: http://www.sepiachicago.com/
I loved everything about it. The ambiance, the place-setting, the menu, the coaster, the chandelier, the tea pot, the sugar container and yes yes yes...of course the food. So, refined, chic, simple and so flavorful. Just divine. I wanted to stand up and do my happy dance but had to control myself and not put Michael and Gladys to shame.

We ordered a few starters and a few dishes so we could sample a few things.
Here is what we got and loved every bite of it.

For Starter:
Pork Rillettes with Fig Jam and Toast
Sea Scallops with pork belly, knob onions and sugar snap pea (my personal favorite since I'm not much of a pork person).

For Entree:
Berkshire pork Chop with apples
Skate wing with cherry tomatoes, snap peas and raisin caper sauce (Wings of the stingray fish. This was my favorite too).

For dessert:
Sweet Potato spice cake bread pudding and caramel thyme ice-cream (perfect amount of sugar and spice).

And now back to business : )...I love soups when the weather is chilly. I nice big bowl of coconut vegetable soup with noodles. Perfect with any meat, sea-food or even tofu. So, I like to teach you a simple Coconut Lemon Grass with Sea-food and Chicken with vegetables (or tofu) and noodles. Broth is thick and very Malaysian style with a little hint of curry. And for the sweet tooth...Malaysian Banana Fritters.

Class on the 16th of November from 2 to 4pm.
Classes are still on Sunday’s at 2pm and they are $30.00 per class.
Please send this to anyone whom you think will be interested. Please write to me if you have any questions or want to sign up for the class.
