Dinner with the Davidson's.
About a week ago, I got invited to Ian and Whitney's house for dinner. Nothing makes me happier when I get invited to my friends or family's home for dinner. I love when food is cooked from the heart. The planning, the shopping, the grocery list, the table setting, the chopping, the dicing, the sauteing, the baking...all for me. Oh! what a wonderful feeling. That's an incredible gesture of love and generosity. I LOVE IT! I love being part of this master plan of sharing. I loved being loved...especially when there is food involved : ) Thank you Ian and Whitney.
Whitney is a green cook. She loves like most of us Whole Foods. That's where she did most of her organic shopping.
Everything was delish...well except for the Bison Sausage...not that it wasn't delicious, I just could not eat it since it's in the cow family. Yes, no cow for Suba...but everything else was srumptious. My favorite, the dipping chutney to go with the lamb kebab. Its a horseradish mustard sauce infused with fresh rosemary and mixed with a tablespoon of rosemary apple butter. Yes, I know, sounds good ya?
Anyways, here is the menu, go ahead and salivate:
Salad: Locally grown kale, collard greens, spinach, carrots, Organic beats, radish, cucumber, pumpkin seeds, Olive oil, raspberry vinegar, balsamic vinegar and herbs
Bison Sausage with apples and brie
Local, grass-fed bison sausage topped with local/organic candied apples and brie.
Lamb Kabobs with dipping sauce
Local, grass-fed lamb-kabob cut leg meat-broiled and served with horseradish mustard sauce infused with fresh rosemary and mixed with a tablespoon of rosemary apple butter.
Marinated Salmon steaks
Salmon steaks marinated with fresh dill and a lemon-dill sauce. Broiled
Potato and Squash Medley
Organic Yukon potatoes, organic, fresh acorn squash, organic apples baked with brown sugar, cinnamon, salt
